MICROPHONE MUTED
Connection to the studioGoing out to viewers
While you hold this, you
won't hear your own voice in your headphones — but viewers still
hear you the whole time. Useful for interviews, or when you just
want to listen to the game without your own voice in the way.
Shortcut: hold Shift+S.
Saves the last three minutes
of the broadcast — the picture and your commentary, exactly as viewers
heard it — as a video file you can download afterwards. Nothing on air
is affected and there is no pause: the recording runs in the
background the whole time, so this simply keeps what has already
happened. Press it after something worth keeping, not before.
While you hold this, you hear
exactly the audio that goes out to viewers with a 5 second delay
— so you can check that the mix is well balanced. Keep holding to
keep listening. Only works while you are live.
Shortcut: hold Shift+A.

Listens to your voice and the game
for 20 seconds, then sets both to a good volume for viewers automatically,
using EBU R128 — the loudness standard broadcasters use.
Just talk normally while it's listening.
Session
Mutes you for about 3 seconds
This calibrates our
synchronisation engine to ensure your voice is in sync with the
picture. This happens by itself when you go live. If it drifts out
of sync later, a warning will tell you to press this button and
remeasure your latency to our server.
Takes about 12 seconds
Your game feed slowly falls
behind real time — a few seconds an hour, more if the venue's connection
drops packets. Reconnecting resets it and puts your commentary back in
sync. Viewers are never affected; only your own picture and sound stop,
briefly. The system does this by itself when it has to, but if your feed
feels late you can do it now, at a moment that suits you.
off
Keeps a rolling four minutes of the
broadcast on the server so you can save the last three at any moment.
Turning it on or off restarts the outgoing stream, which viewers see as
a brief interruption — so set it before kick-off rather than during
play. It costs a little of the server's capacity and nothing of your
picture quality.
Automatic follows your
connection and is right almost always. Choose low
resolution if your picture stutters or your connection is
shared — it uses far less bandwidth and stays smooth. This changes only
what YOU see: viewers are never affected, and your commentary is
identical either way.
Wear headphones. If your microphone or
headset lets you hear yourself directly through it, use that instead of
this app — this app can only play your own voice back to you with a
delay long enough to be distracting.
